A Belém, Reese retrouve sa forme et inscrit encore une magnifique victoire avec un saut à 7.06m (0,7).
Elle est la troisième Américaine a avoir réalisée cette performance qui la place derrière Jackie Joyner-Kersee à 7,49m (1994), et Marion Jones à 7,31m (1998).

The American Brittney Reese dominates the long jump at GP Athletics of Rio (Brazil), she achieves the best world performance of the year by beating the Olympic champion in Beijing 2008, the Brazilian Maurren Maggi. In Belém, Reese found his form again and recorded a magnificent victory with a jump at 7.06m (0.7).
She is the third American to have achieved this performance, which puts her behind Jackie Joyner-Kersee with 7.49 m (1994), and Marion Jones with 7.31 m (1998).
