Hussain est en pleine forme depuis le début sa saison préparatoire, il est en train de réaliser des performances très prometteuses pour la suite de la saison.

Hussain améliore son record personnel et bat le record Arabe du saut à la perche en salle avec un saut à 5.46m à Fayetteville, Arkansas le 17 février 2017, lors des qualifications des championnats en salle NCAA. Le précédent record était détenu par l'Algérien Samy Si Mohamed avec 5.30m réalisé en 1994. Hussain possède également le record national en plein air des trois catégories avec 5.32m réalisé en 2014.

Hussain has been in top form since the beginning of his preparatory season, and is making very promising performances for the next following competitions
Hussain improved his personal record and beat the Arab record in the pole vault with a 5.46m jump in Fayetteville, Arkansas on 17 February 2017, in the NCAA Championships. The previous record was held by the Algerian Samy Si Mohamed with 5.30m realized in 1994. Hussain also has the national outdoor record of the three categories with 5.32m realized in 2014.

Hussain améliore son propre record national du saut à  la perche en indoor avec 5.30m au championnat universitaire "Tyson Invitational Indoor " qui s'est déroulé le 10-11 /02/ 2017 à  Arkansas-Randall Tyson Track. Hussain avait fait depuis le debut de saison une bonne série de performances en salle:

 - 03-04/02/2017 - 42nd Annual Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational Indoor - (5.20m)

Il est à rappeler qu'il a déjà réalisé 5.32m en 2014, cette performance constitue le record national en plein air.
Il détient également respectivement les records mondiaux des U14 et U15 avec 4.55 m et 4.95m.

Hussain improved his own national indoor record in pole vault with 5.30m at the "Tyson Invitational Indoor" university championship which took place on 10-11 / 02/2017 in Arkansas-Randall Tyson Track . Hussain realized  good series of indoor performances since the beginning of this season :
