DWIGHT PHILLIPS : REVANCHE ET SUPERIORITE AU : USA OUTDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS (EUGENE) 25-28/06/2009)

Cette anneé aussi le championnat national d'athlétisme des USA a eu lieu à Hayward Field, lieu très fréquenté par les athlètes américains pour différentes compétitions de grandes importances telles que les championnats nationaux et les US Olympic Team Trials. Eugene a longtemps été surnommé "Track Town, USA" pour sa richesse historique en athlétisme et l'immense satisfaction qui procure pour cette discipline athlétique. Traditionnellement, Hayward Field accueille "the Visa champions athletes" de classe mondiale pour tenter à chaque fois d'améliorer leurs performances ou défendre des titres.
Pour cette année, les meilleurs athlètes Américains auront également la chance de représenter la séléction américaine au championnat du monde d'athlétisme à Berlin du 15-23/08/2009.
Comme d'habitude,beaucoup de bonnes performances ont eté enregistrées. Dans l'épreuve du saut en longueur, Dwight Phillips gagne sa revanche cette fois-ci en se montrant le plus fort de l'épreuve avec un saut à 8.57m (2.2m/s) bien devant Brian Johnson 8.26m (4.0m/s) et George Cuisines 8.23m (3.2m/s) .L'année 2008, Dwight Phillips n'a pas été retenu dans la séléction Américaine pour les jeux olympiques de Pékin 2008; faute de ne pas avoir fait mieux que 4.ème derrière le trio Trevell Quinley , Brian Johnson et Miguel Pate lors des " US. Olympic Trials 2008".
Chez les dames, le concours a été remporté par la leader Brittney Reese sans difficulté: 7.09m (3.1m/s)devant Brianna Glenn :6.82m (3.5m/s) et Funmilayo Jimoh: 6.77m (1.3m/s).

This year too,the USA championships in athletics took place at Hayward Field, a place much frequented by American athletes for competitions of great importance such as national championships and U.S. Olympic Team Trials. Eugene has long been known "Track Town, USA" for its rich history in athletics and the immense satisfaction that provides for the athletic discipline. Traditionally, Hayward Field welcomes "the Visa Champions athletes' world-class to try each time to improve performance or defend their titles.
For this year, the best American athletes will also have the chance to represent the American selection in the World Championships in Athletics in Berlin, Germany, 15-23/08/2009.
As usual, many good performances were recorded. In the event of long jump, Dwight Phillips won his revenge this time showing the strongest in this event with a jump at 8.57m (2.2m/s) well before Brian Johnson: 8.26m (4.0m/s) and George Cuisines: 8.23m (3.2m/s). MOKOENA DOMINE LA LONGUEUR A DKB-ISTAF MEETING DE LA WAT.(BERLIN-14-06-2009)

Le Sud Africain Godfrey Mokoena, le médaillé d'argent olympique de Pékin 2008 a dominé hier l'épreuve de la longueur au stade olympique de Berlin.
Dès son premier essai, il attérit à 8.27m et à sa cinquième tentative il améliore encore et inscrit un saut à 8.33m (+1m/s) en égalisant sa meilleure performance de la saison qui lui donne déjà la victoire.

South African Godfrey Mokoena, the Olympic silver medalist in Beijing 2008 has dominated yesterday the long jump event at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin.
In his first attempt , he lands at 8.27m and with his fifth , he improves to 8.33m (1 m/s) by equalizing his best season performance which give him already the victory.

SDIRI PULVERISE LE RECORD DE FRANCE AU SAUT EN LONGUEUR A PIERRE-BENITE.

Tout le monde connait Salim Sdiri après son accident qui a failli lui coûtait la vie le mois de juillet 2007 lors du meeting de la Golden League de Rome où il avait été transpercé au bord du sautoir en longueur par un javelot lancé par l'athlète Finlandais Tero Pitkamaki.
Le 12-06-2009, après presque deux anneés passeés , Salim Sdiri vient de de réaliser une superbe performance en longueur en pulvérisant le record de France avec 8.42m (+0.4), lors du meeting de Pierre-Bénite (Rhône).L'ancien record était détenu par l'athlète Kader Klouchi depuis 1998 avec 8.30m . Salim devient le troisième performer mondial de la saison derrière L'Américain Dwight Phillips (8.74m) et le Panameen Irving Saladino (8.63m).

Everybody knows Salim Sdiri after his accident that nearly cost him life in July 2007 during the Golden League meeting in Rome where he had been pierced at the edge of the long jump pit by a javelin, throwed by the Finnish athlete Tero Pitkamaki.
On 12-06-2009, after almost two years, Salim Sdiri , achieve a superb performance in long jump by pulverizing the French record with 8.42m (+0.4) at the meeting of Pierre-Bénite (Rhône).The old record was held by Kader Klouchi since 1998 with 8.30m. Salim became the third performer of the season world behind American Dwight Phillips (8.74m) and Panamanian Irving Saladino (8.63m).

Médaillé d'or aux jeux olympiques de 2004 et deux fois champion du monde en plein air, Dwight Phillips a connu la saison dernière une série d'échecs qui lui a coûté une absence totale aux Jeux de Pékin 2008.Cette saison les choses semblent avoir changées car depuis sa première apparition au GP international de la Guadeloupe ( 1-05-2009 ) il inscrit une belle performance de 8.51m en lançant un defi trés sérieux pour la suite de la saison en enregistrant un mois aprés un "season best" à 8.54m à Hengelo (1-06-2009). Olympic gold medalist in 2004 and two time world champion outdoors, Dwight Phillips has seen the last season a series of failures that cost him a total absence in Beijing 2008.This season things seem to have changed because since his first appearance in international GP of Guadeloupe (1-05-2009) he recorded a fine performance of 8.51m in launching a serious challenge for the remainder of the season recording a months after a best season with 8.54m to Hengelo (1-06-2009). This Sunday, June 7 at the "Nike Prefontaine Classic Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon in Eugene," Phillips came to broke his own record with an impressive jump of 8.74m (-1.2m / s) and pass the leadership before the Olympic champion Irving Saladino who finishes second behind him.
31 years old, he takes the 5th best place of all time after: Mike Powell (8.95m - 1991), Bob Beamon (8.90m - 1968), Carl Lewis (8.87m -1991), Robert Emmiyan (8.86m -- 1987),and with Larry Myricks (8.74m - 1988), Erick Walder (8.74m - 1994).

Pour sa première rentrée de la saison, Irving Saladino, champion olympique en titre, a été encore une fois supérieur à ses concurrents au meeting (FBKG Hengelo NED. ) du 1 Juin 2009.
avec un excellent saut en longueur mesuré à 8.56m (+0.8m/s), meilleure performance mondiale de la saison.
Saladino n'a pas tort de revenir sur le même sautoir, là où il a déjà réalisé son magnifique record personnel de 8.73m qui le plaçait au septième rang de tous les temps.

For his first season competition , Irving Saladino, Olympian champion title was once again superior to his competitors at (FBKG Hengelo meeting - NED.) in 1 June 2009.
with excellent long jump measured at 8.56m (+0.8 m / s), the best world performance of the season.
Saladino is not wrong to return to the same long jump pit , where he has already made his magnificent personal record of 8.73m which placed him seventh of all time.
