LONG JUMP BACK IN THE UNITED STATES ?
Already at birth of the modern Olympic games, the Americans began to take an interest in athletics strenght-speed where they gain extensive knowledge of specific methods for the physical and technical developments of the long jump .
The technical approach American long jump has always been oriented towards the rapid execution of the jump using a style as hitch kick.
The advancement of American athletes in this discipline was remarkable with a very dynamic performance more or less linear for decades .
But in recent years new conditions appear necessary to change the list of famous Americans.
The end of career and the departure of former U.S. jumpers like Carl Lewis and Mike Powell has unveiled a new generation of jumpers which hitherto could not confirm their supremacy.
This seems to make a break with the glory years of Jesse Owens, Ralph Boston, Bob Beamon, Larry Myricks, Carl Lewis and Mike Powell.
With this decline, the first thing that jumps in the eyes of technicians and specialists is the technical level of this changing of jumpers which is declining steadily since the departure of former stars.
The World Championships in Athletics Osaka 2007 and Beijing 2008 Olympics are an example to demonstrate the results of regression and even the unexplained absence of U.S. jumpers in the final of the last Olympics. The same remark is also valid for their compatriots in the triple jump who experienced the same situation at the same world competitions .
Maybe a new system of preparation that has been occurring in the U.S. do to guide a new direction of research new athletes and coaches able of doing at least what could be their elders that they wanted to choose to retire definitively or choose the selection of any withdrawal because of poor economic conditions being experienced athletics.
And here is a study and a limited personal analysis that reflects the dynamics results among American athletes at the World Championships in Athletics and their presence on the shelves around the world last 10 years (1999-2008).
